Planes Companies is Hiring a Local Driver Near Columbus, OH
- Complete required company forms for each shipment serviced and as requested by dispatcher.
- Call in and communicate load, delivery and transit schedule daily with local and regional dispatcher daily respectively.
- Keep vehicle clean in cab area and cargo area.
- Inform Local/Regional dispatcher of any claims/damage concerns or issues to cargo, property or vehicle immediately.
- Maintain valid and appropriate driver’s license.
- Maintain UVL Van Operator qualified status.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Operations Department Procedures Manual.
- Complete all training programs as directed by dispatcher and or management.
- Keep dispatcher informed of all occurrences and potential problems effecting the daily operations of the company.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of what it takes to manage and provide safe handling and safe moving practices to minimize cargo and property claims.
- Additional job assignments or projects as directed by the dispatcher as deemed necessary for the benefit of the company.
- High School Diploma / G.E.D. required.
- Ability to communicate with people of various education levels.
- Excellent verbal and listening skills.
- Ability to work side by side with co-workers and to maintain a quick, workman like pace.
- Must be able to problem solve and make sound business decisions.
- Operate Commercial Vehicle in safe manner.
- Lead and manage local labor during the loading and delivery process meeting Planes operating standards.

- Full-time position. Generally, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime as necessary, including nights and/or weekends.

- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English.
